SBU Libraries & Counseling and Psychological Services present “Let’s Talk” Event

On Wednesday, December 9th, SBU Libraries worked with CAPS, the Counseling and Psychological Services, to bring BEAU, a certified therapy dog to visit students studying for finals in the library! Beau is a 2 1/2 year old border collie mix. His parents are Roger & Linda. We are grateful to them for today’s visit!!
“Let’s Talk” is a chance for students to drop by for brief conversations with a counselor in their communities. Students can stop by and say hello, pick up some giveaways, or stick around to discuss anything bothering them. The counselors are caring, unbiased and trustworthy professionals, who can suggest resources for further support, if necessary.”  We would also like to thank PRAAT,  Patchogue Rotary Animal Assisted Therapy, for helping to make this event possible.  The students seemed overwhelming happy to get a few minutes with Beau, and to speak with the counselors on hand who had some great freebies to take away. We wish all of the students the very best as they finish their finals and get ready to end the semester.
