The December 5th Art of the Violin concert in the Library Galleria had its largest audience of the semester.
Listeners filled the chairs provided, stood along the opposite side of the Galleria and in front of the North Reading Room, sat on the main staircase steps, and watched from the 2nd floor balcony. Passersby paused to listen briefly throughout the concert. Students from Prof. Jennifer Frautschi’s violin studio performed with other guest instrumentalists:
Tong Chen and Hudson Chung (violins), Rachel Haber (viola) and Sameer Apte (cello) performed Felix Mendelssohn’s String Quartet No. 2, op. 13, in its entirety.
Brunilda Myftarej (violin) and Michaela Larsen (mezzo-soprano) performed J.S. Bach’s Partita No. 2 in D minor for Solo Violin, BWV 1004, arranged by Adrian Sylveen.
We look forward to offering more lunchtime concerts during the spring semester. Happy Holidays everyone!
