Yesterday the University Libraries wrapped up the semester with the latest installment its Colloquium Series. This monthly event invites library faculty and staff to share current research, achievements, professional development activities and ideas with their colleagues, encouraging collaboration and innovation across departments.
Yesterday’s Colloquium focused on the technology and digital initiatives within library spaces and included presentations on digital gaming tools, 3D printing, and gif making.
Public Services Coordinator Kristen Cinar explained how gaming tools can be used to breathe life into any subject matter and even enhance departmental training techniques while yielding informative assessment data.
Laura Costello, Head of Research & Emerging Technologies, and Dana Haugh, Web Services Librarian, presented micro versions of two presentations given at NYLA2015. The first explored the rise and use of 3D printers and the second demonstrated the potential applications of gifs in libraries.
Thank you to everyone who attended!
