To Stand with the Finest in the Country: The Founding and First Three Decades of Stony Brook University
Stony Brook, a comprehensive university center in New York State’s public higher education system, emerged from humbler beginnings as a small college in Oyster Bay less than 60 years ago. Featuring original photographs and sources from the University Archives, depicting the early history of SBU, this presentation will discuss how a Long Island ‘woodlands’ rapidly transformed into a research university.
Please join us after the presentations for a discussion. To register for the event or for more information please visit http://library.stonybrook.edu/
