Historical Note
John Bellport (1936-2008) was a Conservative Party councilman in the Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County, New York. He was an elementary school teacher in the Shoreham and Rocky Point School Districts, and a veteran of the United States Army serving in Mannheim, Germany. Bellport was past-president of the Shoreham Civic Association, Trustee of the Incorporated Village of Shoreham, and the first Conservative Party member elected as Councilman in the Town of Brookhaven.
