Is the Southampton Campus Library open now?

The Southampton Campus Library is currently open Monday through Thursday from 8am-10pm and Friday through Saturday 9am-5pm. Please the ‘Hours & Locations’ page for more information.

 


When is the Southampton Writers Conference?

Where are the Occupational/Physical Therapy classrooms at Southampton?

The classrooms for OT/PT classes at Southampton are located in the basement of the Library. You can come in through the West entrance of the Library and then bear right to either take the stairs or the elevator down to the classrooms.

 


I’m a graduate from the old Southampton College, how would I go about getting my transcript?

Transcript requests for the former Southampton College of Long Island University are going to be directed through the Registrar’s Office at LIU Post. You can make a transcript request using this link.

 


Is there a book delivery service from libraries on the main campus to the SoMAS library on the Southampton campus?

Yes, material from the main library can be delivered to the Southampton and Manhattan campuses.  You can use the Document Delivery option from our Interlibrary Loan office.

 


Where is the SoMAS building?

The SoMAS building is located across from the Stony Brook Southampton campus on the south side of Montauk Highway. Take Tuckahoe road past the traffic light and across Montauk highway. The building will be on the left hand side of the road. Click here for directions.

 


How do I download Microsoft Office on my personal computer?

How do I download the program EndNote?

DoIT (Division of Information Technology) provides access to EndNote, and many other software programs, on a website called Softweb. Here is a direct link to the support page for EndNote. EndNote is a bibliographic tool which enables users to quickly organize references while automatically building bibliographic documentation.

 


My print job did not print properly but my print quota was charged, can I request a refund?

For the most part, you are expected to be able to format and send your print job to the SINC site how you would like it set up, but if there is a printing mishap you believe you should be refunded for you can submit a ticket with ITSM (Information Technology Service Management). Access the ITSM Service Portal using this link.

 


How do I pay for Library fines?

You can pay for library fines and fees several ways:

1.  Pay Online with a Credit Card:

Click on My Account on the library homepage and enter your NetID and NetID password.

This will take you to STARS, the University Libraries catalog.  On that page click on MY ACCOUNT once more.

In the middle of the next page, under ACTIVITIES, click on Cash Transactions to view your library fees. You can pay for all or selected fees, using a Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express credit/debit card.

Don’t forget to Sign-out after you have completed your transaction.

2. Pay in Person:

a) The Bursar’s Office in the Administration Building. See here for hours. The Bursar accepts all forms of payment.

OR:

b) The Circulation Desk, located on the 3rd floor of the Melville Library, in the Main Stacks. Make your payment in cash weekdays 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., or by check or money orders up until 15 minutes before closing. Make your check payable to “SUNY at Stony Brook.” Include your Solar Number or SBU ID number on the check or money order to receive proper credit.

3. Mail-in a Check / money order (but not cash) to:

How do I renew a book?

From the Library homepage, click on catalog account.

If you borrow books from West or Southampton campus libraries, select STARS.  If you borrow books from the Health Sciences Library, select HSL.

You will be prompted to enter your NetID and password.

After logging in, click on MY ACCOUNT or LIBRARY ACCOUNT.

Next, click on LOANS.

You will see the items you currently checked out.  You can renew all of them, or select one or more to renew.  Above the list of items, you will see the option to RENEW ALL or RENEW SELECTED.  Click on which one you want to do.
