Research Skills for HEA Students

This online workshop is for new students in the School of Professional Development's Higher Education Administration program. The workshop will cover the basic research skills needed to hit the ground running and complete assignments quickly, using the subscription resources available through the Stony Brook University Libraries. After the workshop you will be able to:

  • Navigate SBU Libraries' online subscription resources, which are only available to SBU students and available from off-campus
  • Identify and find peer-reviewed articles quickly and easily
  • Search for a specific citation and check if we have an online subscription to a specific journal title
  • Use subject searching for more targeted searches
  • Make the most effective use of Google Scholar when off-campus
  • Use WorldCat to find additional resources close to home or work
