Are the North Reading Room and Central Reading Room open?

The North Reading Room has reopened and is actively serving patrons. The Central Reading Room has closed for construction and will reopen during Fall Semester 2016. Click to see all library hours.

Where can I study?

Both floors of the North Reading Room are open with improved seating, wifi, and power outlet access. The stacks on the 2nd floor are accessible through the North Reading Room main entrance.

How can I access the elevators?

Elevator access is available through the north elevators in the galleria. Please alert a staff member if you need elevator access.

Where are the collections?

  • The General Reference Collection and Encyclopedia and Index Collections that were in the Central Reading Room and the Science & Engineering Reference Collection that was in the North Reading Room are now located on the 2nd Floor Core East, accessible through the North Reading Room main entrance. They can be checked out at the North Reading Room reference desk.
  • The Science & Engineering Library Book Collection that was on the first floor of the North Reading Room is now on the 2nd Floor Core West, accessible through the North Reading Room main entrance.
  • The Science & Engineering Reserves have been integrated into the Main Stacks Reserves and are accessible from the Main Stacks on the 3rd floor of the Library.
  • The Microforms Collections and the Science & Engineering bound journals have been temporarily moved offsite and can be requested via interlibrary loan
