Celebrate your freedom to read during Banned Books Week!

It’s that time of year again! ALA’s Banned Weeks Week falls at the end of September each year.  The holiday, which begainvisiblen yesterday, is meant to encourage us all to embrace our freedom to read.  So please show your solidarity and send us a picture of you reading a banned book, or just come to CRR and take in some of the quotes we’ve posted from previously banned or challenged books – and pick up your free button while you’re here!

From ALA.org:
“[Banned Books Week] highlights the value of free and open access to information. Banned Books Week brings together the entire book community –- librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types –- in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.
