ASK US and You Shall Receive

Stephanie McEvoy is the library’s graduate intern this semester.  She is exploring academic librarianship while she completes her Master’s in Library Science degree from Queens College.  She will be writing occasional columns about her discoveries and experiences at Stony Brook University Libraries.

Note to self: I can get help with research questions without having to put pants on! Yup, it’s true. You can be productive in your pajamas from your dorm room or anywhere with internet access. SBU has you covered!  Rain or shine you can ASK US and chat online with a librarian.

Click on the Red ASK US tab on most library pages and you will immediately be connected to a librarian who will help you locate a book, find peer-reviewed journal articles, answer citation questions or any of your library needs. ASK US is live from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday and some weekend hours during fall and spring semesters. This service is quick, easy and most of all convenient. Wherever you are ASK US is there for you.

The library staff here at SBU is a team of service minded professionals who are waiting to help you be successful during your years here and beyond. The skills that can be learned through the library are not exclusive to academic endeavors. They are relevant to future employment and 21st century citizenship. If you are in need of any guidance to assist you with an assignment make the library your first stop. A friendly, knowledgeable librarian can point you in the right direction so ASK US!!
