Welcome Patrice Scanlon!

The SBU Libraries team is happy to welcome Ms. Scanlon to campus.  She joined us on February 2 and will serve as the Multimedia Resources Specialist. Patrice comes to us from Mills College in Oakland, California where since 2005 she served as the Intermedia Arts Technical Director.  Prior to that, she was the Course Director for Intermedia Composition at Expression College for Digital Arts in Emeryville, California. Patrice earned a Master of Fine Arts in Electronic Music and Recording Media from Mills College, and a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance with Emphasis in Digital Arts from Stetson University.  In 2003 she was awarded the Paul Henry Award in Composition, and in 2007 she was the recipient of the San Francisco Foundation’s Fund for Artists Initiative.  Professional highlights include her October 2013 work as the Musical Technical Director and Foley Conductor for the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs Presents: The Body Cartography’s Project Super Nature; and her June 2013 work as Software Designer and Live Signal Processor for the Zeena Parkins Residency at the Stone in New York City. During her time off she enjoys playing catch with her overly hyper dog, cooking, gardening, and supporting local businesses and farms.
